A Lynn man was involved in an arrest made by the Winthrop Police Department on Tuesday.

Ralph Sostre, 39, of Lynn, was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Members of the Winthrop Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by the Winthrop Police Patrol Division, investigated the areas of Kennedy Road, Atlantic Street, and surrounding areas for suspected narcotics distribution.

A blue Tesla Model Y, owned by Sostre, was suspected of being involved, according to the department.

“Detectives observed activity consistent with street-level narcotics distribution,” the department noted.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Revere Street and Shirley Street in which Sostre failed to comply with repeated lawful orders and refused to exit his vehicle. Officers were forced to break into the vehicle and safely remove Sostre.

He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Cash, cocaine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia located during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Winthrop Police as a result of an ongoing investigation on Tuesday.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of approximately 18.9 grams of suspected fentanyl and approximately 12 grams of suspected cocaine, along with multiple clear plastic bags, a digital scale, two phones, and more than $2,400 in cash.

The same day Tyrone Robinson, 45, of Winthrop, was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute (subsequent offense).

These are allegations. All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
