SWAMPSCOTT — Tuesday’s boys high school basketball game between Norwell and Swampscott was featured in ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 Plays Wednesday morning. From near half-court, Nick Fein swished a contested, buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give Norwell a 43-42 road win.
The Clippers stormed the court, and little did they know they’d be on national television the next morning. The shot was the No. 2 play behind professional golfer Tom Kim’s hole-in-one.
Swampscott native and SHS alumnus Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, posted about the highlight on X.
“Brutal way for the Big Blue to go down in the tournament. Electric call though,” stated Portnoy, referring to student broadcaster Paul Varvounis of Swampscott.
