Lynnfield to host Mother Earth Soireé

For the Item

March 5, 2026 by For the Item

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield Tree Committee invites the community to a festive, informative soirée at the Lynnfield Meeting House, 617 Main St., on Tuesday, March 24.

Visitors will be warmly received between 6:30-8:30 p.m. for this free social gathering. You are invited to mingle with Tree Committee members and local experts to share information and ask questions about Mother Earth that you can incorporate in your own lives and backyards. This event includes light refreshments and beverages.

Learn about the health and care of trees with Jacob Maynard, a Certified Master Arborist from Bartlett Tree. Maynard has degrees in arboriculture and urban forestry and is committed to scientific tree care. Bartlett Tree Experts, founded in 1907, specializes in preventive health care for trees and shrubs, including pruning, insect and disease management, fertilization and soil care, cabling and bracing, tree lightning protection systems, and, where needed, removal. As a Certified Arborist, Maynard specializes in developing and implementing customized tree care programs.

Learn about water and water conservation with a representative from the Ipswich River Watershed Association (IRWA). As the voice of the Ipswich River, IRWA exists to protect our most important local river to ensure that there is enough clean water for people, fish, and wildlife, today and for future generations. The Watershed’s efforts support the 350,000 people who rely on the Ipswich River as a source of drinking water. Through water quality monitoring, hands-on restoration projects, local and state advocacy, and public education, their work safeguards the river and the communities connected to it.

Learn more about the wildlife we share our backyards with. Our immediate environment includes the larger animals that wander among us to the tiniest of creatures; both the known and unknown provide us with a healthy ecosystem. Supporting this complex food web is integrally connected to our lives. Join a Tree Committee member and discover how our white oaks are keystone species that support a diverse community of more than 500 animals and plants. Find out how important this tree is to Mother Earth.

Explore with a member of the Tree Committee how we can all do better in our own backyards. Do you compost? Use chemicals? Grow your own vegetables? Have a pollinator garden? While all our actions have repercussions, following organic practices are a first course of action and are easier than you might think.

Bring your enthusiasm and your questions during this celebration of Mother Earth. Stay for as long as you want or simply stop by to gather the information needed to start or continue your journey toward a beneficial environment while enjoying a relaxed evening of community and refreshments.
