SAUGUS — Friends of elementary students at the Pioneer Charter School of Science 2 came out for a STEM Family Fun Night, where parents and kids teamed up for an evening of hands-on learning and creativity. The event was all about getting families involved in what students are learning in the classrooms in an interactive way.
Activities included: candy DNA model building, binary code bracelets, marshmallow catapult engineering challenge, snap circuits, bristle bots, robot race demonstration, salt art, slime making, and tangrams and math activities.
Events like this are a big part of the school’s effort to spark interest in science and engineering early on, while also strengthening the connection between students and their families.
