To the editor:
I want to send a thank you to both Ward Six Councilor Fred Hogan and State Rep. Sean Reid for helping us at Seaport Landing. I have complained about the bike lane in front of our property and how difficult it is to enter or leave our homes. We are always afraid that we will be hit by cars when trying to enter our driveways. People are always traveling above the posted speed limit. When I moved here, the State was always watching from our driveway or the Porthole parking lot. They no longer do that when we really need them.
Councilor Hogan put me in touch with Rep. Reid, who has listened to our complaints about the bike lane and the sidewalk entrance into our second driveway. It has needed a repair for a very long time. The cement is so broken that we worry about the damage to our tires and low-driving cars. Rep. Reid has reached out to the State, and a temporary repair has been made. Hopefully, a more permanent repair will come soon.
A very big thank you to both men.
Sincerely,
Geri McManus
Lynn
