PEABODY — The Dream Team, a group of 17 dancers aged 9-16 from Dance With Dena, performed at City Hall Thursday night — and smiles were contagious throughout Wiggin Auditorium.
“The Dream Team is a group of incredibly dedicated young dancers who work very hard at the dance studio, but on their own as well. They support each other and lift each other up. This group is special,” said Dena Thibodeau, former Patriots cheerleader and Dance with Dena dance studio owner.
The dance showcased flexibility, kicks, hairography — and most importantly, girlhood. As the stage lights reflected off the Dream Team’s bedazzled costumes, the dancers truly sparkled.
Having already danced at Endicott College, Merrimack College, and Boston College this season, the group is now preparing for its trip to Walt Disney World, as the Dream Team has been invited to take the stage at Disney Springs in just a few weeks.
“Disney is one of my favorite spots, so I’m so excited to be able to perform there and do what I love and just see all of our hard work pay off,” said Dream Team Co-captain and St. Mary’s High School sophomore Sarah Terrien.
