To the editor:
The Saugus school budget debate is driven by manipulated statistics and a false narrative aimed at smearing the current administration.
It is illogical to push for more apartments — adding strain on our historic town’s limited resources, where seniors and fixed-income residents are already stretched thin by inflation and multi-generational living — while advocating to deplete the stabilization fund (meant for emergencies and capital improvements to protect taxpayers) to fund schools.
This finger-pointing campaign dishonors our community.
