To the editor:
I believe that the original Glover House was expanded by the restaurant now in disgrace. Why not remove the added-on construction and beautify the original home as much as possible? People will understand that the effort was genuine. The rest of the property could be a park and maybe some parking. The parking could be near Tedesco Street, so it would appear that it was for the use of the park. A playground could also be a part of the space. I know that there has been talk about building apartments in the space, but that would further the traffic and be overwhelming.
I am familiar with the development of Little’s Point and how the main building was made to reproduce the summer home of Calvin Coolidge. The building was still standing and was “easier” to duplicate, but the Glover house could be a matter of making the best attempt possible.
The new building could essentially be a “museum” with information and images about the life of Glover and the history of his time.
I have been a lifetime Marbleheader and a recent mover to Swampscott Vinnin Square.
