Who said Mondays are no fun?
It was a good one for Lynn baseball fans, who saw Lynn Classical, Lynn English, and Lynn Tech secure wins on the diamond.
Classical defeated Revere 6-2. Mark Walsh (4 IP, 3 H, 9 K) allowed just one earned run, while Sam Morris (3 IP, 3 H) entered in relief. At the plate, the Rams were led by Wagner Perez (1-for-3, RBI, R, BB) and Daynel Almonte (2-for-3, RBI).
Angel Thomas (7 IP, 5 H, 3 BB) struck out 11 batters as English escaped Medford 3-2 at Fraser Field. The visitors led 1-0 and 2-1, but the Bulldogs battled back late.
Tech, which defeated Northeast Metro 27-7, recorded 10 runs in the first inning and 11 in the second. Jendol Diaz (7 K) started on the bump, while Eddie Lewis Jr. (4-for-4), Colin Newhall (4-for-4), and Christopher Boyd (3-for-5) led an explosive offense.
“Really solid defense was played behind Jendol Diaz, who threw well today. It took him a little bit to settle in, but once he did, he finished up with a total of 7 Ks,” said Tech coach Eddie Lewis. “We couldn’t have asked for a better start today. We came out red hot, scoring 10 runs in the first inning. Honestly, we were locked in the entire game.”

Swampscott (1-1) met its match against the Crusaders, who tallied three runs during the fourth inning to take control. Leading the Big Blue’s offense was Michael Collins (2 H), who went yard with a three-run homer. Chase Groothuis, Caden Ross, and Connor Chiarello collected two hits apiece, while Dylan DiFilippo hit a two-run single.

Do-it-all Sachem Layla DeMonte hammered a three-run homer during the first inning and was a double short of a cycle. Her sister, Aubrey, delivered a “standout game defensively,” according to Saugus coach Steve Almquist, whose group improved to 2-1.
Sofia McCarrier (7 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 6 K) went the distance, while Alannah Duong (2B, R, 2 BB) and Sydney Deleidi (H) also contributed for the Sachems.
“Senior captain Maria Silva made the play of the game in the fourth inning with a diving catch to take away extra bases,” Almquist said.

Tessa Francis posted a dozen punchouts as Marblehead took down Fenwick. She helped her own cause with a two-run double during the fourth inning. The versatile Magicians received strong games from Nora Mahan (2-for-3), Tessa Andriano (2-for-3), Lucy Rogers (2 RBI), Grace Dow (H), Hailey Schmitt (H), Isabel Mortensen (H), Ashley Mortensen (H), and Kate Andriano (H).

An offensive battle in Newburyport saw Lynnfield fight, but fall. The Pioneers were led by Hayden Valiton (7 goals, assist, 6 draw controls), Ava Damiani (goal, assist), Jordan Calichman (3 goals, 2 assists, 9 draw controls), Olivia Adams (2 goals, 2 assists), Audrey Curley (6 draw controls), and Olivia Sylvester (8 saves).

Despite goals from Marblehead’s Zoe Dwyer and Addy Co Peeps (assist), the Panthers pounced on home turf.
“Everyone needs one game to reset,” said Marblehead coach Annie Madden, whose group stands at 1-2. “Tomorrow is a new day and it’s time to focus on Swampscott (Friday at 4:30 p.m.).

Classical’s Henry Limkol took care of business in his first varsity match (6-2, 6-4), but the Rams (0-1) were defeated by the Falcons.

Behind singles victories from Ty Cooper and TJ Kelly, the Magicians escaped Masconomet on home courts. Marblehead’s Adam Loughlin and Filip Wabno picked up a doubles win.

A 2-2 match heading to second singles, Victor Zeissig won it for Swampscott with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Sam Schepens and Julian Flacke also recorded singles wins. The doubles teams of Zachary Goldman/Alex Levine and Stephen Rizzo/Giuseppe Lepore were sharp for Fenwick.

The Big Blue delivered a big-time win. Nikki Carr, Ginger Gregoire, and Ana Eccles recorded singles wins, while the doubles teams of Ava/Alexia O’Donnell and Sasha Fafel/Lilly Carr took care of business.

Lynnfield’s Kathleen Brown and Christin Choi secured a doubles victory, while Lily Alves, Kami Khiat, and Vicky McCrann went 1-2-3 in singles. The Pioneers stayed hot and improved to 2-0.

Through tight set scores of 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, 27-25, and 8-15, the Tigers (0-3) remained winless despite a stellar showing from Elmer Duran (18 assists, 13 digs, 7 kills, 6 aces). Also contributing were Sam Caraballo (17 digs), Felipe Oliveira (8 kills, 2 blocks), Anthony Reid (4 kills, 11 digs), Jayden Chiep (9 digs), and Amauri Bermudez (7 kills).

The Rams (4-0) stayed perfect with a Greater Boston League win. Set scores were 25-16
25-14, and 25-14 in favor of Classical, which was led by Kenzel Lantano (38 assists, 4 digs, 5 aces, 2 blocks), Riches Won Tep (20 kills, 4 digs, ace), and Ali Mejdi (7 kills, 4 digs, 3 aces).
“Tonight was a great all-around effort from our boys. We really played well in all phases of the game,” said Classical coach Chris LeBlanc. “At the end of the day, this match was about our setter and captain, Kenzel, a leader on and off the court. … He really is a tremendous young man and we could not be prouder.”
