PEABODY — “Shine it up! Show it off! Make a difference!”
That is the slogan for the first annual Peabody PROMISE Car Show, which will take place on Sunday, May 3 from 8 a.m.-noon at 1 Roosevelt Ave. in the medical building parking area. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 10.
The Peabody PROMISE Car Show is hosted in collaboration with Mayor Ted Bettencourt, and it will feature a curated display of antique automobiles, classic vehicles, muscle cars, sports cars, and specialty builds.
The family-friendly event will bring together classic car enthusiasts, local businesses, and community members for a morning celebrating automotive craftsmanship while supporting a meaningful cause: Peabody PROMISE.
Peabody PROMISE is the City’s dedicated team — made up of school officials, city leaders, parents, educators, healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and residents — focused on mental health, anti-bullying initiatives, and suicide prevention. The PROMISE acronym stands for Preventing suicide, Reducing stigma, Offering support, Making meaningful change, Investing in mental health, Standing against bullying, and Empowering the community.
“Peabody PROMISE is about lifting up our community and ensuring that every resident feels supported, valued, and connected. This car show is a great example of what makes Peabody special: neighbors coming together, sharing what they love, and making a difference for others. I’m grateful to everyone participating and helping us advance the important work of mental health awareness, anti‑bullying efforts, and community support,” Bettencourt said.
Community members are invited to attend and enjoy the car show free of charge.
Vehicle pre-registration is required, with space limited to 100 vehicles to ensure optimal display and attendee experience. Vehicle registration includes an optional $50 tax-deductible donation made directly to Peabody PROMISE. Additionally, sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels, with all donations tax deductible.
Proceeds from vehicle registration and sponsorships will go directly toward Peabody PROMISE.
Event awards will be presented by Bettencourt and include: Best Antique, Best Classic, Best Muscle Car, Best in Show, Best Sports Car, Community Impact, and People’s Choice.
