SWAMPSCOTT — On Monday at approximately 4:04 p.m., off-duty Sgt. Kevin Reen was called by a neighbor, who was not home, but had seen notifications and video images of an unauthorized person in her home.
Reen responded to his neighbor’s home, and upon checking the perimeter of the residents, he detained a female that exited his neighbor’s house. The male resident of this address also arrived home and met with Reen as the woman walked out the front door of the home.
Officers Todd Nottingham, John Cassidy, Michael Kenyon, and Kevin Kaufman responded within moments to this address on the report of a breaking and entering in progress. There was also a 911 call to Swampscott Dispatch at Lynn PD, which further alerted Swampscott Police to the urgency of this matter.
The female was detained by Nottingham and Kaufman as Cassidy and Kenyon conducted a protective sweep of the house.
As a result of the officers’ investigation, the female was placed under arrest for breaking and entering for a misdemeanor and disorderly conduct.
