To the editor

To the editor:

Jeff Weeden has been involved with government and public housing for over 18 years, working for the Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development (LHAND) as its director of planning and development, and prior to that as the district director for the 11th Essex District’s State Representative.

In his current capacity, Jeff has been awarded and oversees various federal and state grant programs that represent over $25 million of resources to the residents of Lynn. He facilitated the drafting and passage of the City’s first housing production plan, working with stakeholders, residents, elected officials, and regional planning agencies. Jeff also serves as an administrator for Neighborhood Development Associates, or NDA, a nonprofit development corporation dedicated to creating affordable housing and placemaking opportunities in the city of Lynn. With NDA, Jeff is currently working to convert the Historic Lynn Armory building into mixed-income veterans housing.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he earned his BA in Political Science, and he recently completed the North Shore LEADS executive leadership program in conjunction with Harvard Business School. Jeff is a past president of the Camp Fire North Shore Board of Directors, serves as treasurer for the Friendly Knights of St. Patrick Scholarship committee, is a member of the Lynn Rotary Club, and serves as a member of the board of trustees for the Lynn Classical Alumni Association. Jeff has resided in Marblehead with his family for the last 14 years and is active in multiple youth sports, coaching Marblehead youth soccer.

Previously, Jeff was active in the Lynn community where he grew up and works and now is looking for the opportunity to become more active in the Marblehead community where he lives and is raising his son, William. Specifically, he is hoping his experience working for a public housing authority and with various state and regional agencies can be an asset to the Marblehead Housing Authority as they continue to serve the residents of Marblehead and embark upon future projects.
