PEABODY — The City has finalized a new, three-year agreement with Cataldo Ambulance, Peabody’s longtime provider of emergency medical services.
The extension begins July 1 and extends through June 30, 2029. There is also an option for an additional two-year extension through June 30, 2031 available for the City.
“As always, we are immensely appreciative of our partnership with the City,” said Dennis Catalado, CEO and president. “We are proud to provide care to all those that live, work, and play in this great community.”
According to Mayor Ted Bettencourt, the new agreement provides the City with another Basic Life Support vehicle, which will expand the level of service available to residents. Bettencourt said the added unit is an important benefit of the contract and that it will help meet the needs of a growing city.
“Peabody has been well served by Catalado Ambulance for many years,” Bettencourt said. “In addition to providing exceptional emergency services to our residents, Catalado has proven to be a tremendous community partner, regularly participating in major community programs — including the International Festival, Senior Day at Brooksby Farm, and the Holiday Stroll & Tree Lighting.”
Bettencourt also mentioned Cataldo’s investment in the community through its Foster Street facility, which houses several vehicles and staff and serves as an important base of operations within the city.
