SWAMPSCOTT — Local Daisy troop 63104 visited the Swampscott Fire Department on Sunday to complete their first aid badge. Firefighters Britney Coppinger and Ben Rossman talked with the troop about fire safety, going through the stop, drop, and roll procedure, calling 911, and finding a trusted adult.
Representatives from Beauport Ambulance also spoke to the troop about choking and staying calm in an emergency. They also got a tour of the ambulance.
The Daisies ended their trip with a visit from SFD’s firehouse dog, Ryan.
“The girls really enjoyed our second field trip to the fire station … we love our community helpers,” said Katie Arrington, the co-leader of troop 63104 and the media liaison for the Ocean Bay Girl Scouts.
