To the editor:
In the article on April 26, “Water/Sewer rates could increase 300-400%,” Ward 5 Councilor Dave Gamache asked whether the state would be able to provide some relief to take some of the burden off the municipalities within SESD.
Rep. Thomas Walsh said, “The short answer is: There is not a huge amount of money. As you are all facing fiscal challenges, the state is as well.”
If The Healey administration didn’t spend $4 billion of Massachusetts taxpayers money on housing undocumented immigrants, there would be plenty of money for towns and municipalities.
