SAUGUS — Eagle Scout Candidate Sean Lynch of Troop 62 is currently working on completing his Eagle Scout project to earn the title by gathering donations for the MSPCA-Angell Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem.
“My project will be run over the course of two weekends for households between Winter Street and Lincoln Avenue, east of Clinton Avenue, along Springdale, and over to Atlantic Avenue,” Lynch said.
Bags will be distributed to these areas with lists of items that the Northeast Animal Shelter needs, and a link to the Northeast Animal Shelter’s Amazon Wishlist.
Lynch explained that the bags will be distributed on May 9 and picked up on May 16.
“There will also be collection boxes at the Saugus Middle High School main lobby, Saugus Public Library, and the Hamilton Street Police and Fire Station main lobby,” he said.
Those with questions or looking to arrange an alternate pickup spot can contact Lynch ([email protected]), his father Francis ([email protected]), or Scoutmaster John Kane ([email protected]).
Lynch’s announcement included a list of general items that the Northeast Animal Shelter always needs, which are: towels and sheets, dog/cat food (wet and dry), dog waste bags, cat scratching posts, disinfectant wipes, Dixie cups, peanut butter, unsalted chicken or beef broth, extendable back scratchers, wash cloths or small rags, dog/cat treats, cat litter and scoops, dog/cat toys, paper towels, leashes, spray cheese, bully sticks or pig ears, and canned chicken.
The organization asks that all food items be unopened.
