Animal control responded to a nuisance call. Services rendered; a report at 4:50 p.m. at Lowe’s on Broadway. Caller reported a dog had been leashed to the rear of a trailer truck in the shad and the caller was concerned because the dog was whimpering. An officer reported that the dog was friendly and that food, water, and shade were readily available. The owner voluntarily moved the dog into the truck’s interior cabin. Services rendered.

A report of a disturbance at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday at the Mobile Mart on Broadway. Caller reported an issue with a payment. Peace restored.

A report of a hazmat level 0 at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe’s on Broadway. Caller reported that his vehicle was leaking fluids while parked by the garden center at Lowe’s. AAA was refusing to tow the vehicle prior to it being cleared by the fire department. Services rendered.

Suspicious Activity

A report of suspicious activity at 5:14 p.m. Wednesday on Essex Street. Caller was an Uber, and he reported that his last passenger was discussing murder while he was transporting him to Putnam Road. The passenger and driver spoke in Spanish. The passenger talked about a Netflix show discussing murders and investigations. The driver was concerned about a statement made by the passenger, which was, “They are idiots. I could get away with it.” No credible threats or statements were made. Investigated.
