The Lynnfield 13-year-old Little League team captured the 2026 Middlesex Big Diamond-Intermediate Division championship Sunday night with an 8-0 win over Swampscott. The title capped a season of growth and development for a team that emphasized participation, sportsmanship and fun throughout the spring.
“Our goal from Day 1 was to provide every player the chance to compete, play different positions, change up the batting order and to have fun. We collectively focused on encouragement, positive reinforcement, and good sportsmanship,” coach Dave Ostuni said. “As the season progressed, all 15 players improved, gained confidence, and each player made a significant contribution to the team’s success. Most importantly, they competed and had a lot of fun. Somehow this group managed to keep all the coaches entertained while walking away with the championship. Hopefully this group will stick together for another fun spring next year. Thank you to all the coaches for helping give these kids such a positive experience.”
Team members included Declan Brooks, Colin Davis, Ben Doherty, Asher Donahue, Nolan Dubois, Parker Falzarano, Colin George, Quinn Hamilton, Samuel Llanes, Zac Mancinelli, Matthew Mattia, Tate Ostuni, Chase Pagos, Cooper Smith and Timothy Turkov.
