You know what I’ve been thinking? It’s not how you start; it’s how you respond.
After beginning the summer 1-6, the North Shore Navigators, of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, have rattled off five consecutive wins to reach .500. They defeated North Adams, Newport, Vermont, Danbury, and Upper Valley.
Outscoring opponents 36-15 during the stretch, things are looking up at Lynn’s Fraser Field for first-year manager Jack Hawke and company.
Better yet, locals have been making big-time impacts.
North Shore’s first home-field homer of the season belonged to Peabody’s Danati Fronduto, who’s batting .333 with six RBI, five runs, and two stolen bases across nine games.
Former St. Mary’s pitchers Jack Zimmerman (Revere) and Josh Doney (Lynn) have been wheeling and dealing. Zimmerman has tossed eight innings and holds an ERA of 1.13 with five strikeouts. Doney has a pair of wins, sporting an ERA of 2.08 with six strikeouts across 4 1/3 innings.
Danvers’ Danny Flynn has collected three hits with two stolen bases, three walks, and an RBI.
Navs, good week.
