Closings/postponements due to the coronavirus outbreak

LYNN

The ribbon cutting for LB Music School, 577 Walnut St., Lynn, scheduled for March 23, 3 p.m., is canceled. 

Lynn Public Schools closed through at least April 6. 

The Friday night Teen Drop-In Center at Lynn Tech is canceled for the next four weeks. There’s no Teen Center on March 20, 27 and April 3.

Grace United Methodist Church is canceling all church activities, meetings, clothes closet, and worship services until further notice. 

LYNNFIELD 

Lynnfield public schools closed through April 6.

MARBLEHEAD

Marblehead public schools closed through at least March 27. 

The Church of St. Andrew (Episcopal), Marblehead, has canceled Sunday services and church school for the time being. Check the church’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/StAndrewsMarblehead/ and the church’s website, www.standrewsmhd.org, for the latest updates on measures taken in response to COVID-19 as well as cancellations and postponements.

Tedesco Country Club closed until further notice.

NAHANT

Nahant public schools closed through at least March 27. 

All public buildings, including Johnson Elementary school, will be closed starting Monday. 

PEABODY

All Peter A. Torigian Senior Center activities are canceled. The 79 Central St. center remains open for hot lunch every day, Monday through Friday between 11:30 and noon. 

State Rep. Theodore Speliotis canceled district office hours for March. West Peabody residents with questions and concerns can call (617) 722-2410 or email [email protected].

The Peabody Recreation, Parks, and Forestry Department has decided to cancel the championship games for Peabody Elementary Basketball League. 

To close the season, the league has decided to declare tournament co-champions. All trophies and certificates will be delivered to school principals in the upcoming weeks.

SAUGUS

Saugus public schools closed starting Monday and continuing through March 27. This may be extended. 

Town Hall, Town Hall Annex, the senior center, Saugus Public Library, the Department of Public Works, Youth and Recreation are all closed until further notice. Senior center staff will remain available by phone during regular hours of operation, and library staff will answer phone calls and emails as they come in.

SWAMPSCOTT

Swampscott Public Schools closed through at least March 27. 

Town Hall will be closed to the public. Most town business can be handled online, by mail, through email, or by telephone; and appointments will be scheduled only if entirely necessary by calling 781-596-8850.

The Senior Center will be closed to the public. Limited services will be available to seniors including access to food services and transportation services. Call 781-596-8866 for more information.

The Library will be closed to the public.

All Town-sponsored public events (recreation, library, senior center, etc.) are postponed. 

All Board, Committee, and other public meetings are canceled while we explore virtual meeting solutions.
