VIRUS CASES SURGE IN PEABODY AND REVERE

Peabody and Revere reported a double-digit increase in coronavirus cases on Wednesday.
New cases were also reported in Lynnfield, but numbers remained the same or were not updated in several other North Shore communities.
In Peabody, 38 new cases have been reported since Monday to bring the city’s caseload to 1,698. The city’s death toll is 193 and 1,149 people have recovered, according to the health department.
Revere reported 23 new cases on Wednesday to bring the city’s total numbers to 3,716 cases and 109 deaths, according to the city website.
With seven new cases reported, Lynnfield now has 208 cases and 14 deaths, according to the town website.
Numbers remained the same in Nahant (72 cases, six deaths) and were not updated in Lynn, Marblehead, Saugus or Swampscott on Wednesday.
Lynn had 6,200 cases and 125 deaths as of Tuesday and Swampscott had 208 cases and 11 deaths as of Monday. Marblehead (302 cases, 30 deaths) and Saugus (921 cases, 44 deaths) have not provided updated numbers since last Friday.
