LYNN, REVERE REPORT NEW VIRUS CASES; DEATH TOLL CLIMBS IN PEABODY

Lynn and Revere reported a double-digit spike in coronavirus cases Monday, and Peabody has reported another nine deaths over the past week.
In Lynn, 93 new cases were reported to bring the city’s caseload to 10,955. Of that total, 1,953 cases are active, 153 people have died, and 8,849 have recovered from the virus, according to city data.
Revere reported 72 new cases to bring the city’s total numbers to 6,634 cases and 121 deaths, according to the city website.
Nine additional virus deaths have been reported in Peabody since Friday, Dec. 18, which brings the city’s death toll to 228.
Peabody has 3,907 cases and 1,660 people have recovered from the virus, according to the health department.
As of Monday, Lynnfield had 659 cases and 18 deaths, Marblehead had 653 cases and 31 deaths, Nahant had 133 cases and six deaths, and Swampscott had 550 cases and 11 deaths.
Saugus (2,138 cases, 48 deaths) has not updated its numbers since last Thursday.
