You know what I’ve been thinking? It was a week of tests for Lynn Classical’s boys basketball team, and one player sure made things count.
With do-it-all Shyheim Babb leading the charge, Classical defeated Burncoat (Worcester), familiar foe Lynn English, and Somerville. All three games were played at home across a four-day stretch.
In a 61-49 win against Burncoat, Babb recorded a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. Oh, and four blocked shots . . .
One night later, the senior netted (game-high) 23 points to cap off an 80-60 win against the Bulldogs.
A narrow 68-59 victory against Somerville wrapped up Classical’s week with Babb compiling another double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds.
The Rams, ranked fourth in Division 3 with a record of 14-2, visit Chelsea Tuesday with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. From there, the Rams do battle with South High (Worcester), Swampscott, and Everett to round out the regular season.
