MARBLEHEAD — Call it an up and down week — or down and up.
Marblehead’s boys hockey team lost to Hopkinton 7-1 inside of Rockett Arena Monday. The Headers trailed just 2-1 after two periods, courtesy of Teddy Dulac redirecting a point shot from Max King.
But the third period doomed Marblehead as the visitors tucked five unanswered goals.
Marblehead goalie Evan O’Connor made 14 saves.
One night later, however, the Headers secured a hard-fought 4-3 win against Danvers inside of Bourque Arena at Endicott College. The trio of Hayden Gallo, Holden Ferreira, and Dulac combined for three of Marblehead’s four goals and seven points.
After a sharp blue-line move, EJ Wyman netted the game-winning goal on a breakaway during the third period.
Bowden Laramie protected the pipes and turned away 30 shots.
Seeking back-to-back wins, Marblehead visits Peabody/Saugus/Swampscott Thursday. Puck-drop is slated for 3:15 p.m. inside of McVann-O’Keefe Rink in Peabody.
The Headers (4-11-1) ranked No. 34 in the MIAA’s most recent Division 3 power rankings.
