PEABODY — Bishop Fenwick is proud to announce Lisa J. McGloin, Esq. ’88 as head softball coach, welcoming home one of the most accomplished coaches and student-athletes in school history.
A Fenwick alumna and former team captain, McGloin brings more than four decades of coaching and playing experience to the Crusaders. Most recently, she served as head coach of Concord-Carlisle for 26 seasons, compiling a stellar 441-122 record and 78 percent winning percentage. Under her leadership, Concord-Carlisle captured 19 Dual County League championships and made six state semifinal appearances.
McGloin’s coaching résumé also includes experience at the collegiate and elite travel levels. She served as a hitting consultant for Merrimack College and Bentley University. Since 1995, she has led Raiders Softball, Inc., a highly-respected travel organization in which she serves as president and 18U head coach. The program includes nine teams and supports more than 100 athletes each year.
Her coaching career began at Fenwick, where she served as an assistant from 1989-97 and was part of seven consecutive state championship teams. McGloin’s return marks a full-circle moment for the Fenwick softball community.
“Lisa McGloin represents the very best of Fenwick softball,” said Athletic Director Scott Connolly. “Her success as a coach is remarkable, but just as important is her commitment to developing student-athletes of character. We are thrilled to welcome her home to lead our softball program.”
As a player, McGloin enjoyed an exceptional career at the high school and collegiate levels. At Fenwick, she captained the softball team as a senior before continuing her career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was also named team captain. She competed at the national level, earning ASA All-American honors as a catcher from 1993-95 and competing in games against the U.S. Olympic team. She helped lead teams to ASA National and World Tournament titles.
Off the field, McGloin is an accomplished attorney and partner at Capano & McGloin, LLP with a distinguished legal career spanning nearly three decades.
“Fenwick played a formative role in my life,” McGloin said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to return to the place where my love for the game began and to help the next generation of Fenwick student-athletes grow as competitors, teammates, and leaders.”
