LYNN — The Lynn Ferry service is set to return in April, with seasonal weekday service scheduled to begin April 27 and weekend service on May 23.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) announced that the start dates coincide with recent right whale activity, which would prevent the ferry from running at its full speed and regular frequency.
The Lynn Ferry will run throughout the summer, and a one-way fare will be $7.00, or 3.50 for Reduced Fare riders. Tickets can be purchased on the mTicket app or with cash on board, and both Commuter Boat and Commuter Rail Zone 2 (or higher) passes, and M7 cards will also be accepted.
“We are thrilled to announce the 2026 Lynn ferry service schedule, which has become a beloved part of our community,” said Mayor Jared Nicholson. “As we move into another year, we’re excited that the MBTA will continue offering a reliable and accessible transportation option that serves our residents and region and enhances the daily commuting experience for riders and creates opportunities for weekend trips by sea.”
