Please join us for “An Evening with Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist David M. Shribman: Portrayals of Antisemitism” on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Marblehead High School Auditorium. Rabbi David Meyer will join Mr. Shribman for a conversation as Mr. Shribman draws on his decades of reporting, analysis, and firsthand experience covering both national and global events. This program is sponsored by Marblehead Task Force Against Discrimination, Marblehead Public Schools, Marblehead Ministerial Association, and the Marblehead Police Department.

“David M. Shribman served as executive editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette from 2003 to 2019. He writes a nationally syndicated column in the United States and contributes a separate column on American affairs for Canada’s national newspaper, The Globe and Mail. He is a scholar in residence at Carnegie Mellon University and has also taught at the Max Bell School of Public Policy at McGill University in Montreal.
Prior to his time in Pittsburgh, Shribman held several prominent roles at The Boston Globe, including assistant managing editor, columnist, and Washington bureau chief. His distinguished career also includes serving as national political correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, covering Congress and national politics for The New York Times, and working on the national staff of The Washington Star. He began his journalism career at The Buffalo Evening News, where he later reported from the Washington bureau.
After graduating from Swampscott High School in 1972, Shribman went on to graduate summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in history and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He pursued graduate studies in European and African history at Cambridge University as a Reynolds Scholar.
Shribman was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1995 for his coverage of Washington and the American political scene. He also led the Post-Gazette’s coverage of the Tree of Life synagogue massacre, which was later recognized with a Pulitzer Prize.”
