PEABODY — The City of Peabody has replaced its longtime alert provider with Peabody Alerts, a modern mass-notification system, thanks to a partnership with Regroup.
According to the mayor’s office, “This state-of-the-art platform delivers faster, more reliable alerts on critical public safety issues and important community updates — while also reducing overall costs.”
The mayor’s office added that the system ensures residents stay informed, connected, and prepared through calls, texts, emails, and additional channels.
Residents will receive an introductory call on Tuesday from Mayor Ted Bettencourt as part of the system’s launch.
If you receive the call, that means you are already enrolled in the City’s notification system. If you do not receive the call, that means you are not registered yet. In either case, you can sign up, update your contact preferences, or opt out at any time by visiting www.peabody-ma.gov or texting Peabody Alerts to 58339.
“We take the safety and well-being of our residents very seriously,” Bettencourt said. “A dependable notification system is essential — not only in emergencies, but also for keeping people informed about meetings, events, and issues that impact our community. This new partnership with Regroup gives us the tools to reach residents instantly and ensure that everyone has the information they need to stay safe, prepared, and engaged.”
The City is encouraging all residents to register for alerts to “continue building a resilient, responsive, and well-informed community.”
