REVERE — The City of Revere and Mayor Patrick M. Keefe Jr. hosted a press conference at Rumney Marsh Field to launch a “Field of Play” summer tourism initiative, inviting residents and visitors to share in the excitement of the FIFA World Cup.
“As a city that has more than a quarter of our residents hailing from countries across Latin America, North Africa, and Europe, the number of international soccer fans in Revere is unmatched,” Keefe said. “Our free summer events will appeal to residents and visitors of the region looking to enjoy the big tournament.”
It includes free public watch parties for marquee matches, partnerships with local bars, restaurants, and small businesses, family and recreational programming, as well as public art.
Kicking off June 12, the series runs through July at locations such as Revere Beach, Shirley Avenue, Beachmont Square, and downtown.
