PEABODY — Sandmagination, New England’s largest indoor sandbox experience, will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a special event on Sunday, May 10 from 9-11 a.m., featuring 50% off admission for families.
The Peabody-based destination has quickly established itself as a distinctive space for sensory and imaginative play, featuring more than 1,000 square feet of specialized, non-toxic sand designed to encourage open-ended exploration for children ages 10 and under.
To commemorate its first year, Sandmagination will host a two-hour celebration offering half-price admission, along with complimentary face painting, hands-on colored sand bottle creation in its event space, and light refreshments and family-friendly giveaways.
“This past year has been incredibly meaningful for us,” said co-owner Katerina Krumova. “We set out to create a space where children could explore freely through sensory play, and seeing families embrace that experience has been truly rewarding.”
Co-owner Jason Stadtlander added, “From the beginning, our focus has been on creating an environment that balances creativity with an exceptional level of cleanliness and thoughtful design, something families immediately recognize when they walk through the door.”
Co-owned by Krumova and Stadtlander, Sandmagination is a woman-owned business that emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility, including welcoming children with sensory sensitivities and supporting therapists who utilize the space for early intervention work.
With strong community engagement and more than 18,000 visitors in its first year, the anniversary event is expected to reach capacity. Discounted tickets are available online, and it is strongly recommended to reserve a spot, as capacity is limited. Walk-ins will be limited and subject to availability.
