LYNNFIELD — Camp Invention will be arriving at Lynnfield High School this summer, featuring different curricula inspired by world-changing inventors.
The program, which will run from July 13 to July 20, is part of the National Inventors Hall of Fame and partners with the United States Patent and Trademark Office to challenge children in grades K-six “to tap into their natural curiosity and use their creativity to solve problems.”
This curriculum will encourage kids to be confident in their ideas and explore their innovativeness.
Programs will include Space Morphers, Make Waves, Fur-ensics, and The Infringers.
Space Morphers allows kids to build DIY rockets to launch for a special space mission.
“After a high-energy Rover-Race to collect samples and data, they grow dazzling crystal trees and hatch a mysterious animal egg in a Space Lab,” according to a press release from the program.
Make Waves will have campers “ride the waves of entrepreneurship and invention.” Kids will have the chance to create prototypes, pitch their products, and build a billboard boat to “make waves” in the market.
Campers will sharpen their animal detective skills in Fur-ensics. They’ll investigate a trail of footprints, collect bits of fur, and examine “suspicious splatters.”
The Infringers allows campers to solve challenges in their community and around the world with their “invention superpowers.”
Camp Invention currently serves 140,000 students every year and partners with more than 2,060 schools and districts.
