Congratulations are extended to Bishop Fenwick’s Student-Athletes of the Month for April and May. They are Stoneham’s Nick McFadden (junior – baseball), Danvers’ Amanda Moric (junior – track and field), Revere’s Kaylee Sjursen (junior – softball), and Salem’s Nolan Topp (junior – tennis).
McFadden has been a standout performer for the baseball team this season, demonstrating excellence both on the mound and at the plate. Finishing with an impressive 7-1 record, he recorded 38 strikeouts and a remarkable 0.882 ERA, while also batting .310 with 21 hits. Beyond his athletic accomplishments, he is recognized as an outstanding leader and supportive teammate whose work ethic sets a strong example for others. Academically, McFadden has earned President’s or Principal’s List recognition each quarter and received the Saint Michael’s College Book Award during May’s Junior Classman Awards. He previously attended St. Patrick’s in Stoneham.
Moric has been a valuable member of the track and field program, bringing energy, commitment, and a strong work ethic to every practice and competition. Her positive attitude and determination have helped her achieve success both individually and as part of the team. She was a member of the 4x400m relay team that captured the Catholic Central League championship, reflecting her dedication and competitive spirit. In the classroom, she has earned a place on the President’s List every quarter and was honored with the University of Pennsylvania Book Award during May’s Junior Classman Awards.
Sjursen has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and passion for the game of softball. She embodies the spirit of a student-athlete through her leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment to her teammates. Her strong presence on and off the field earned her the honor of being named a team captain next season, a reflection of the respect she has earned from coaches and teammates. Her success also extends to the classroom, where she has earned placement on the President’s or Principal’s List each year. Sjursen previously attended Susan B. Anthony in Revere.
Topp exemplifies the true meaning of a student-athlete through his dedication both on the court and in the classroom. His hard work and commitment to the sport have earned him the team’s top singles position, where he leads by example through determination, sportsmanship, and teamwork. He is a natural leader and valued teammate whose positive influence extends beyond competition. Academically, he has earned placement on the President’s or Principal’s List each year and was recognized with the Suffolk University Book Award during May’s Underclass Awards. Topp previously attended Tower School.
