NAHANT — Residents and visitors will get a front-row view of the Tall Ships this Friday as several vessels anchor off Nahant’s coast before sailing into Boston Harbor for Sail Boston.
Before docking in Boston from Saturday, July 11 to Thursday, July 16, the Tall ships will be viewable from Nahant’s coast on Friday from 3 to 9 p.m.
To mark the occasion, the town will host a party, known as Nahant Sail 250, on the Wharf with live music by the “All Stars” from 6 to 9 p.m., an ice cream truck, a food truck, and more. Bent Water Brewing Company will also provide beverages.
The Nahant All Stars consist of the Paul Foley Band with special guests: Tony Gallo, Lois Lane, Ute Gfrerer, Joe Mack, Siren Singers, Chris Billias, Dave Conlin, Jeff Hansen, and Chris Whitlock, according to event organizers.
From 3 to 8 p.m., the Nahant Sailing Program instructors plan to offer free half-hour sails out into the harbor to provide closer views of the tall ships. Those interested can sign up for available time slots on Friday at the Nahant Sailing Program building, starting at 2:30 p.m.
The event is held in partnership with the Nahant Sailing Program, Town of Nahant, Historical Commission, Nahant Historical Society, the Nahant Dory Club, and Bent Water Brewing Company.
