SAUGUS — With 12 years of childcare under their belts, Nelsy and Alan Juarez are expanding Happy Feet Children’s Center to Saugus.

The center is located at 10 Bennett Highway and open to infants (0-14 months), toddlers (14 months-2.9 years), and preschoolers (2.9-5 years).

The couple first opened in Chelsea before moving to Lynn to found Happy Feet Children’s Center.

Nelsy Juarez began her journey in childcare in Colombia, where she studied special education. When she moved to the United States, she studied at Urban College with a focus on early education.

The pair said that something the center focuses on is the way they allow children to grow, learn, and develop.

“One of the most exciting moments is when we celebrate graduation for many of them. Because it’s beautiful to see that blessing of having known that child when they were born and then sticking around with us for five, six years,” Nelsy Juarez said.

Nelsy Juarez said parents can expect their children to be educated as a whole person when they walk through the doors to Happy Feet Children’s Center.

“You will see your child growing up and knowing modalities, being courteous, and at the same time learning everything they need to succeed in the next level of their education,” she said.

Alan and Nelsy Juarez said one of the key things they’ve learned through their experiences in childcare is: “When you treat a child with respect, when you value them as they’re growing and value their individualism, you start seeing the results of that education that you’re transmitting to them.”

Nesly Juarez said she wants parents to know that their children will be in a safe space, with zero tolerance for children being mistreated, and constant supervision of staff, teachers, and the children.

“I want to encourage parents to give us a chance and come walk through the facility, meet the staff, meet us, and see that, as we say, ‘Every day will be the best day for their children,'” she said.
