With less than five minutes remaining in a scoreless game against No. 10 Reading Memorial (15-3-5), Doucette dangled through the defense before sniping the puck into the top-left portion of the net.
After an emotional celebration inside of Woburn’s O’Brien Rink, the Spartans (20-3-2) held on to win a 1-0 thriller. Goalie Avery Sico was perfect between the pipes.
St. Mary’s will battle No. 6 Methuen-Tewksbury, which advanced after Sarah Marano’s overtime goal against No. 3 Algonquin Regional Wednesday.
