LYNN — Lynn English High School senior Ghafour Diallo is this month’s guest on “A Super Conversation” with Superintendent of Schools Molly Cohen.
“A Super Conversation” is a podcast hosted by Cohen that highlights key stakeholders in Lynn Public Schools. The inaugural guest in February was Mayor Jared C. Nicholson.
Diallo was born in Guinea in West Africa and moved to the U.S. in 2022 at the age of 15. He made the 4,000-mile journey with his older sister to join their mother, who had emigrated in 2016 and eventually settled in Lynn.
Diallo, who speaks five languages, has a 4.3 GPA while taking AP and Honors classes. He is the commanding officer of the cadets in the Marine Corps JROTC program and he played on the English football team that won the Greater Boston League championship.
“Ghafour’s story is truly inspirational,” Cohen said. “He is a role model who represents the very best of LPS students. I’m thrilled for people to hear from him.”
“A Super Conversation” was taped at the Lynn Classical TV studio and produced by TV teacher Sean Donahue and students Isaiah Gravell, Mayco Martinez, Diego Palma, and Jacob Smith. It was co-produced by LPS Assistant Director of Curriculum & Instruction Shannon Bansfield.
