Friday’s Northeastern Conference battle saw Marblehead’s baseball team defeat Peabody 15-5 across six innings at Seaside Park. The Magicians (2-2) heated up in the fifth inning and collected 16 total hits.
Marblehead was led by red-hot Greyson Leventhal, who collected four hits and roped a pair of doubles. The Red and Black visit Beverly next Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Peabody fell to 1-2 ahead of Monday’s road game against Masconomet at 4:15 p.m.

Jonas Perez recorded a no-hitter and struck out seven batters as Tech (4-0) snatched another win. Making noise at the plate were Eddie Lewis Jr. (3-for-4), Perez (3-for-3, RBI) and Albert Collado (2-for-3), who got a hold of a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
“Jonas looked real good out there today,” said coach Eddie Lewis. “He’s focused and locked in this season. He’s pitching with a lot of confidence out there. He trusts the guys behind him to make plays and they trust him to battle hard out there when he’s on the mound. We got the bats going early and put a lot of pressure on them when we got on base.”

Brennan Malloy (7 IP, 0 BB, 8 K) put together a complete-game shutout as St. Mary’s improved to 2-1 and 2-0 in the Catholic Central League. Nate Cutone smashed a two-run homer alongside a double.

Despite a three-run homer from Layla DeMonte, Saugus (2-3) was reeled in by the Fishermen. Maria Silva and Ari Chianca “made a couple of nice catches,” according to Sachems’ coach Steve Almquist.
“It was a 4-3 game going into the top of the fifth (inning),” Almquist said. “The kids played excellently.”

Archbishop Williams walked this one off as St. Mary’s (1-1) suffered its first loss. Sydney Wells (3 H, 2 SB), Cate Morgan (HR), and Olivia DiSessa (2-for-4, 2 RBI) commanded the Spartans’ offense, while Aliza Crean-Oviedo struck out eight batters.

Leading the Magicians were Will Kinahan (goal, assist), Tyler Forbes (goal), Owen Dulac (2 assists), Kyle Thibodeau (2 goals), Reid Wysor (assist), Bailey Finkle (goal), Grady Becker (goal, assist), and Colin Maniaci (11 saves).

A battle between traditional archrivals saw Swampscott (3-1) get the last laugh. The Big Blue were paced by Cecelia Tripp (5 goals, assist), Bridget Maloney (4 goals, assist), Quinn Kelleher (3 goals), Reagan Pelletier (2 goals, assist), Victoria Pierro (goal, 2 assists), Fiona Keaney (2 assists), and Lilah Caplan (9 saves).
Zoe Dwyer (4 goals, assist) and Addie Co Peeps (2 goals, assist) led Marblehead (1-3).
