In a tight Northeastern Conference matchup, Marblehead girls tennis edged Masconomet, 3-2, for its sixth straight win.
At second singles, Callie Gilmore earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory. Marblehead sealed the match by sweeping doubles play: Joy Meshulam and Caroline Bruett won 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles, while Harper Mooney and Lilly O’Keefe took second doubles, 7-5, 6-3.
Samara Dosch dropped a hard-fought first singles match, 5-7, 5-7, in a two-and-a-half-hour battle.
GIRLS TENNIS
Swampscott 5
Saugus 0
Swampscott delivered a dominant team performance in a sweep of Saugus. Nikki Carr, Ginger Gregoire, and the second doubles team of Eve Byrne and Lilly Carr all posted 6-0, 6-0 wins.
Ana Eccles added a 6-1, 6-2 victory at third singles, while Ava O’Donnell and Alexia O’Donnell won 6-1, 6-2 at first doubles to complete the shutout.

Lynnfield (7-1) earned a road sweep over Beverly, though a pair of matches were tightly contested. At second singles, Kami Khiat won 7-5, 2-6, 10-7, and at first doubles, Christine Choi and Kathleen Brown prevailed 7-6 (2), 6-0.
Lily Alves (6-3, 6-2) won at first singles, and Vicky McCrann (6-2, 6-1) took third singles. Olivia Asaad and Emma Wagon completed the win at second doubles.

Swampscott 2nd singles Senior Captain Julian Flacke won with a score of 6-3,0-6 10-3 in the 3rd set tie breaker.

A match between two of the top five teams in Division 2, the Magicians earned bragging rights with a narrow victory.
Marblehead won at first singles, with Ty Cooper winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, and at second singles with TJ Kelly winning 6-4, 6-1.
With the score tied at 2-2, it came down to second doubles. Marblehead’s Cordt Menzler and Filip Wabno defeated Alex Raymond and Henry Tissera, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 11-9.
BASEBALL

Saugus 1
Brayden Crawford got the start for Saugus and went six innings, allowing six hits and five runs (none earned) while striking out six and walking two. Crawford went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Chris Mazin had the lone RBI for Saugus.
SOFTBALL

Lynn Tech 0
Sofia McCarrier pitched a five-inning complete game, allowing five hits and striking out eight. She also contributed at the plate with a hit and two RBI, while sophomore Angie Dow added a two-RBI single.
Senior Lani Perez returned from an injury and made an immediate impact, recording her first varsity hit, a two-run line-drive single to right-center.
Senior captain Maria Silva reached base three times (2 walks, single), finishing with an RBI and three runs scored.

The Bulldogs struggled to keep up with a talented Medford team.
Lynn English was led by Isabella Veilleux, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Rashely Castillo, Melanie Pimentel and Jianny Bernabel also had a hit in the loss.

Lynn Tech fell to 4-7 with a straight-sets loss (24-26, 21-25, 15-25). Elmer Duran led the Tigers with 10 kills and six digs, while Amauri Bermudez added five kills and two blocks. Sam Caraballo (eight digs) and Felipe Oliveira (four digs) also contributed.
