LYNN — Superintendent Dr. Molly Cohen has appointed Julie Louf deputy superintendent of schools.
Louf, who had been serving as interim deputy superintendent since September, was the unanimous recommendation of a committee that interviewed three candidates on June 17.
Louf has worked in Lynn Public Schools for 25 years, also serving as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.
“Julie is a proven leader who has excelled as interim deputy superintendent,” Cohen said. “She has extensive experience in LPS at all levels and is deeply respected by colleagues, students, teachers, and families. I am excited to have her on my leadership team.”
Louf began her career as a special education teacher at Breed Middle School. She later served as assistant principal and was named principal in 2012. At Breed, Louf led a diverse learning community with a focus on academic excellence, social-emotional development, and inclusive practices.
“I am grateful to Dr. Cohen for the confidence she has placed in me and honored to serve in this position,” Louf said. “I have a passion for education and am proud to have the opportunity to continue to contribute to the outstanding work that goes on in LPS every day.”
Louf earned a bachelor’s degree from Assumption College, a master’s degree, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies at Salem State University.
