BOYS LACROSSE

St. John’s Prep 15

Saint John’s Shrewsbury 2

St. John’s Prep battled the elements and cruised to a 13-goal win.

Despite the cold, rain and snow, the Eagles prevailed, and their high-powered offense proved too much for Saint John’s Shrewsbury.

Ryan McCarthy led St. John’s Prep with five goals, while Beckett Lee added three goals and an assist.

Eight different players scored for the Eagles. Paul Kosinski, Mac Crawford, Bo Minogue, Kevin Correa and Thomas Randall each scored once, while Josh Barton added two goals.

Will Crawford went 10-of-12 on faceoffs.

Defensively, the Eagles limited opportunities throughout the game, according to head coach John Pynchon.

“In goal, Trevor Nemeskal was named player of the game, recording two saves in his first action after missing the past two seasons due to injury. Max Putney added five saves, while Mattheus DuPlessis contributed two saves in relief,” Pynchon said.

Danvers 19

Peabody 5

The Falcons took care of business at home against Peabody. Tyler Moody (4 goals, 1 assist), Mason Gadbois (3 goals, 4 assists), Hunter DeDeminicis (3 goals, 2 assists) and Cooper Dunham (3 goals, 5 assists) led the way against the Tanners’ defense.

In net, Lincoln Smith (6 saves) and Reardon Zaccaria (5) combined for 11 saves.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Marblehead 14

Bishop Fenwick 8

The Magicians (1-1) earned their first win of the season, defending home turf with a victory over Bishop Fenwick (1-1).

Zoe Dwyer led Marblehead with eight goals and two assists. Addy Co Peeps was the second-leading scorer with a hat trick.

Emma Ryan (2 goals, 1 assist) and Maggie Svencer (1 goal) also scored for Marblehead.

Molly Bullard made six saves in net.

“The game plan today was to push the ball fast and capitalize on our speed in the midfield,” Marblehead head coach Annie Madden said. “We’re excited to see the chemistry continue to build as we head into the third game of the season.”

Peabody 17

Danvers 2

The offense was firing on all cylinders for Peabody against Danvers. Leah Bresnahan scored six goals, while Victoria Vaz and Sophia Galbiati each recorded a hat trick. Arianna Alvarado added four goals, and Brianna Symonds scored once.

In net, Eleni Spack made three saves.

Hannah Tersolo and Dee Figueiredo scored for Danvers, accounting for the Falcons’ only goals. Nicole Stokes made four saves in net.

The Lynn Tech boys and girls track teams both earned their first wins of the season, taking care of business at home.

On the boys side, Colin McGough (400-meter hurdles), Emerson Ramirez (1 mile), Teran Clarke (110-meter high hurdles), Tyler Brown (100, 200) and Robert Tewksbury (1 mile) all took first place in their respective events.

The Tigers also won the 4×100 relay with Sean Toro, Anthony Brown, AJ Velez and McGough.
