Roundup: Jets fly to another win

Lynn’s co-op boys lacrosse team took care of business 10-4 in Malden behind four goals and an assist from Denim Dembro. Alex Waterman ripped a hat trick, joined offensively by Derrick Sok (2 goals, 3 assists) and Jahir Maldonado (goal).

The Jets (2-1) host Revere this Friday at 5:30 p.m. They defeated Saugus in the season opener before falling to Greater Lowell Tech on Wednesday.

BOYS LACROSSE

St. John’s Prep 9
Xaverian Brothers 8

In its first close-game scenario of the season, St. John’s Prep escaped and improved to 4-0. Paul Kosinski and Ryan McCarthy each scored twice, while Mattheus DuPlessis made six saves between the pipes. Will Crawford won 15 of 21 face-offs.

Arlington Catholic 13
St. Mary’s 10

Despite five goals from Sal Brogna and another four from Finn Racki, St. Mary’s (0-2) was edged at Manning Field.

BASEBALL

Newburyport 11
Lynnfield 1

It wasn’t Lynnfield’s night in Newburyport. The Pioneers dipped to 1-1 ahead of Thursday’s road game against Triton (4 p.m.).
