To the editor,
I am writing in strong support of Wayne Spritz’s candidacy for Swampscott Select Board.
I have had the opportunity to get to know Wayne Spritz through his leadership as the inaugural Chair of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee, established in late 2020, on which I also serve. From the outset, he has been the driving force behind the committee, which was created following significant changes to the Town’s trash and recycling policy. Since then, his leadership, expertise, and transparency have guided the committee’s work in advising Town administration and the public on trends and policy in trash and recycling. Thanks to his leadership and collaborative approach, he has helped provide Town administration with much-needed preparation for the new trash and recycling contract, which is expiring this year.
Wayne Spritz is dedicated and hardworking, and approaches challenges and questions thoughtfully and independently. His ability to grasp technical, administrative, and policy issues makes him particularly well-suited for the responsibilities of the Select Board.
He consistently works to ensure that decisions are made openly, engaging the public and keeping our community’s best interests in mind.
I am excited that Wayne Spritz is running for one of the open seats on the Select Board. He has been a resident in Swampscott for many years and has served on several Town committees since then. He brings enthusiasm, integrity, and an independent spirit to the role. He is not afraid to speak his mind, but I am confident he will always put the Town’s interests first.
I encourage others to support his candidacy and vote for Wayne Spritz on Election Day, April 28, at Swampscott High School, or during early voting at Swampscott Town Hall on Tuesday, April 21 (8 a.m.–5 p.m.), Wednesday, April 22 (8 a.m.–7 p.m.), Thursday, April 23, and Friday, April 24 (both 8 a.m.–5 p.m.).
Sincerely,
Emily Westhoven
Swampscott
