With Notre Dame Cristo Rey (Lawrence) making its way to Barry Park, Lynn Tech’s softball team cruised to a 17-1 win Tuesday. Genevieve McCafferty dazzled in the circle, recording 14 strikeouts. She helped her own cause with three hits, five RBI, and a three-run homer to right-center field.
Keila McGregor poured in a pair of doubles, four RBI, and two runs scored, while eighth grader Aleena Acosta batted 3-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored.
Tech upped its record to 2-3 ahead of Thursday’s matinee against nearby foe Lynn English. First pitch is slated for noon at Breed Field.

Gloucester plated five runs on two hits during the fifth inning and St. Mary’s couldn’t recover. Abbey Sousa led the Spartans with a pair of hits, while Aliza Crean-Oviedo (2 K) took the loss in the circle.

The Rams took care of Chelsea in four innings as Jake Desmond (2 IP, H, 5 K) and Gabe Valerio (2 IP, 0 H, 4 K) split duties on the mound. Valerio also batted 1-for-2 with an inside-the-park home run and four RBI.
Peabody 6

Peabody (3-4) defended home field and doubled up Beverly. Liam Smith (7 IP, 6 H, 4 K, ER, 0 BB) threw a complete game, while the Tanners’ offense was carried by Pedro Flores (2-for-3, 2 R, RBI), Ethan Waybret (2-for-3, RBI), and Max Silvia (1-for-3, R, 2 RBI).
