It’s one thing to throw a no-hitter, but it’s another to pitch a perfect game without allowing a single opponent on base, and that’s exactly what Lynn Tech’s Jendol Diaz accomplished Thursday at Fraser Field against Salem Academy.
Behind Diaz (5 IP, 12 K), the Tigers defeated Salem Academy 11-0 to improve to 6-2 on the season.
“It started up front with our pitcher. It didn’t take long for me to see something special was happening for him today. He was in the zone from start to finish,” Tigers head coach Eddie Lewis said. “I was very impressed with his poise and how efficient he was out there.”
Offensively, the Tigers broke through in the third inning, scoring 10 runs on seven hits. Eddie Lewis Jr. (2-for-3, RBI), Riley Driscoll (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and Colin Newhall (2-for-3, triple, RBI) led the way for Lynn Tech.
When the Tigers got on base, they were aggressive, stealing bases with Jacob Garcia (3 SB), Lewis Jr. (2) and Jonas Perez (2) finding success on the basepaths.

Mark Walsh led the Rams offensively, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored and three RBI. Jayden Barragan was 2-for-3 with a triple, a run and two RBI, and Emerson Lara went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI.
“It was great to see the boys strike first today. All year we’ve struggled early,” Rogato said. “Today we were aggressive and got three in the first and didn’t look back.”

Despite winning the first set, 25-22, the Rams dropped the next three to a talented Lawrence team, losing 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 13-25, 14-25).

Lynn Classical head coach Chris LeBlanc praised Lawrence.
“Lawrence played very well today. We came out great in the first set and took everything they threw at us. We passed well and attacked well,” LeBlanc said. “After that, their outside Victor Torres kind of took over the match, and we weren’t able to answer. He is probably the best outside we have faced all year, and he was able to control the game from anywhere on the court. Hats off to them, they played an excellent game.”
