The Lady Bulldogs offense was on fire as the Lynn English softball team defeated Somerville, 15-11, on Monday evening.
Leading the way for Lynn English was Adriana Martinez, who went 3-for-5. As a team, the Bulldogs collected 11 hits.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bulldogs scored eight runs on five hits to take an 11-6 lead. Martinez drove in three runs with an inside-the-park home run.
Somerville answered in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs to tie the game. However, Lynn English regained the lead in the bottom of the inning when Amelia Serino and Yarielys Patricio each hit doubles to drive in three runs. Yenelis Reyes also drove in a run with an RBI single.
Annika Johansson pitched 5 1/3 innings in relief, striking out six and walking two.
SOFTBALL
St. Mary’s 8
Monomoy 0
Catherine Newbury earned the win for the Spartans, pitching five innings while allowing no hits and no runs, striking out four and walking one.
Angelina Owumi, Sydney Wells and Abbey Sousa led the way for St. Mary’s with two hits each.
Marblehead 12
Winthrop 0
Tessa Francis recorded her second no-hitter of the season, finishing with eight strikeouts in five innings for Marblehead.
Ashley Mortensen went 3-for-4, while Kate Andriano finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and Lucy Rogers went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Tessa Andriano (1-for-3) also added an RBI.
Grace Dow and Avery Sheridan both had “big hits,” according to head coach Johnny Gold.
Saugus 7
Waltham 4
The Sachems earned a Senior Day win to improve to 9-9 on the season.
Saugus trailed 4-3 entering the bottom of the sixth before scoring four runs to take the lead for good. The rally was fueled by eighth grader Jenna O’Donnell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and brought home two runs on a triple. O’Donnell later scored on a fielder’s choice.
Sofia McCarrier pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and four runs, two earned. At the plate, McCarrier added a hit and an RBI.
“It’s always nice to get a win for our seniors on Senior Day,” Saugus coach Steve Almquist said.

Mia Duncan (3 runs, 4 RBI), McKenna Duncan (2 runs, RBI), and Brooke Braswell (3 runs, RBI) all had three hits for the Rams in the win over Everett.
Lynn Classical will celebrate Senior Night on Wednesday against Lynn English.
BASEBALL
Marblehead 11
Winthrop 0
Marblehead scored seven runs in the first inning to take control of the game. Tim Wales ripped a triple to score two runs, while James Machado, Ethan Harwood and Greyson Leventhal each had RBI singles in the opening inning. Andrew Dellacamera and Aidan Downey also drove in runs in the inning.
Madden Lyons earned the win on the mound, pitching five innings while allowing two hits and striking out nine Vikings.
Swampscott 7
Masconomet 6
The Big Blue left it late, but Swampscott (15-3) completed the comeback with a walk-off RBI single from Isaiah Baires, his third hit of the day, to score Caden Ross with the winning run. The win clinched the conference title for the Big Blue.
Chase Groothuis pitched five innings, allowing three runs on three hits. Groothuis walked five and struck out 10. Jamison Ford picked up the win in relief.
Ross had three hits and four RBI to power Swampscott.

Lynn Classical’s Kevin Severino earned the win on the mound in his second career varsity start, pitching three innings while allowing one hit, walking three and striking out two.
Offensively, the sophomores led the way. Wagner Perez went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI, one run scored and two stolen bases. Emerson Lara finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Jayden Barragan had two hits, including a triple and an RBI.
“We recently brought Kevin up from JV and he has pitched well. He’s not intimidated on the mound at all. I like his confidence,” Lynn Classical head coach Jason Rogato said. “We got a lot of production from our younger players today. It was great to see them take a big step and lead the way today.”

The Spartans (14-2) picked up a big road win over the Eagles. Rolky Brea Arias went 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a home run, to fuel the offense.
Brennan Malloy earned the win on the mound, pitching 6 1/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out five.

Swampscott 16
Saugus 5
Swampscott’s Bridget Urbano was too much for Saugus, scoring six goals in the win. The Big Blue also got hat tricks from Cecila Tripp and Bridget Maloney.
Quinn Kelleher (2 goals, 2 assists), Fiona Keaney (goal, assist) and Victoria Pierro (goal, assist) also scored in the win.
Lilah Caplan made five saves in net for Swampscott.

The Magicians picked up their 15th win of the season after blanking the Vikings. Ty Cooper was dominant at first singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Luke Guevara won 6-2, 6-3 at second singles, while Alex Boehning won by forfeit at third singles.
Marblehead’s first doubles team of TJ Kelly and Adam Loughlin won 6-2, 6-2, while second doubles pair Cordt Menzler and Filip Wabno won 6-2, 6-4.

Swampscott 1
St. Mary’s (12-6) ended the regular season with a win over Swampscott. Jason Spaulding, Thomas Weber and doubles partners Ryan and Jacob Gil secured the win for the Spartans.
GIRLS TENNIS
Lynnfield 4
Rockport 1
It was a tough match for Lynnfield (15-2) despite the scoreline. At third singles, Vicky McCrann lost the first set 2-6 before surging back to win the second set 6-0 and the tiebreaker, 10-8.
At second doubles, Gianna Micieli and Sonia Kumar won the first set 7-5 before dropping the second 3-6 and falling short in the tiebreaker, 10-12.
Lily Alves (6-3, 6-0) and Kami Khiat (6-1, 6-0) got the job done at first and second singles. The first doubles team of Charlotte Beccia and Zoe Rockwell won 6-2, 6-2.

The Big Blue continued to roll with a sweep of Masconomet on the road.
In the longest match of the day, the second doubles team of Lilly Carr and Eve Byrne won 6-0, 5-7, 10-5. The victory secured the 5-0 sweep for Swampscott.

Marblehead swept Winthrop with Rory Donagan winning 6-0, 6-0 at third singles, while first doubles team Carolyn Black and Gabby Menohoa and second doubles pair Stella Charney and Anna Cannuscio also won 6-0, 6-0.
At first singles, Annie Tucker won 6-0, 6-1, while Emily Levine won 6-1, 6-0 at second singles.

Beverly 1
In a doubleheader, the Magicians defeated both Winthrop and Beverly.
“I really counted on the depth of our team to be able to play two matches at the same time,” Marblehead coach Tracy Ackerman said.
Against Beverly, Samara Dosch won at first singles, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2, while Sophie Li won at third singles, 6-4, 6-2.
Both first and second doubles teams won 6-3, 6-4 to complete a two-win day for Marblehead.
“Meanwhile in Beverly, we had a very competitive match with the always competitive Panthers,” Ackerman said. “We were thrilled to walk away with four points against them heading into the postseason next week.”
VOLLEYBALL

The Rams fell short against Revere in a thrilling five set match (22-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 11-15).
Lynn Classical’s Kenzel Lantano led the way with 38 assists and nine digs. Riches Tep had 17 kills and 16 digs, while Ali Mejdi had eight kills, two aces, and 15 digs for the Rams.
“While we never like a loss, tonight was an outstanding game that either team could have won. At the end, Revere just made a few more plays. I could not be prouder of the boys’ effort tonight. The gym was really hot, and everyone left it all on the court tonight,” Lynn Classical head coach Chris LeBlanc said. “As a coach, you worry about your team’s mental state on Senior Night, but they really answered the bell tonight. In particular, we all thought that Ali really stepped up tonight and picked up key points whenever we needed them. I thought he was good in all phases of the game.”

The Tigers earned a straight-set win, 25-13, 25-14, 25-17, to finish the season 8-11.
Elmer Duran had 18 assists, six digs, four aces and three kills. Felipe Oliveira added four kills, two blocks, two aces and two assists. Sam Caraballo recorded nine digs and three kills, while Manny Dosreis finished with six kills. Anthony Reid contributed with four kills, and Amauri Bermudez added three kills in the win.
